Saudi Arabia: Young Saudis win praise for talent

JEDDAH: Young Saudis displayed their business projects and other talents, such as handicraft items and designer clothes, at an exhibition here and earned accolades by people from all walks of life.

More than 250 participants took part in the 7th annual Young Businessmen and Women Forum and Exhibition over the past few days at the Jeddah International Center for Forums and Events.

Saudi Arabia: Haji's number to reach 5m in coming years

JEDDAH: The number of Haj pilgrims is expected to reach five million and Umrah pilgrims 30 million in the next five years, said Haj Minister.

Speaking to businessmen in Madinah, he said the ministry has completed preparations to receive a record number of Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan, which is likely to begin on June 18.

“We have taken into consideration the huge increase in the number of pilgrims in the coming years,”

Saudi Arabia: Saudi students win 8 medals at ISEF-2015 in USA

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia achieved yet another accolade in scientific research at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF-2015) in Pittsburgh, US.

As many as 1,700 students from 75 countries around the world took part in the event. The KSA team won eight awards in various research areas. Abdul Jabbar Al-Hamoud from the Eastern Province won the first place in the field of botany, while two girl students — Rafal Bouqis and Ranad Bouqis — from the Makkah region won the fourth place in molecular and cellular biology.

Abdul Aziz Al Shahrani of Asir education also stood fourth in the field of medical science, while Lulua Ziyad Al-Shiha from Riyadh won the fourth place in botany. Another Saudi, Noura Alfdag from Eastern Province secured the fourth slot in mathematics

Saudi Arabia: EU optimistic about visa deal with KSA

Saudi Arabia: The European Union hopes to reach an agreement with the Kingdom on visa relief for Saudi nationals, an official has said.

According to a deal, reached recently, UAE nationals are exempt from Schengen visas and are granted a 90-day stay in European countries, Michael Ohnmacht, the chargé d’affaires and minister counselor at the German Embassy, said.
