The Royal Commission for Jubail opened a cultural festival, called “The Nations’ Festival”, at Al-Fanateer waterfront in Jubail on Thursday.
Khaled Al-Shammari, chairman of the festival organizing committee, said: “The Royal Commission is keen to hold this festival to express Jubail’s appreciation to all Arab and non-Arab residents.
“The five-day event aims to strengthen Jubail’s industrial position, attract more investments, and achieve the visions and goals of the industrial city.”
Al-Shammari said that the festival embodied Jubail’s spirit of communication and openness to all cultures, as well as promoting tourism and entertainment for Jubail’s residents and visitors.
He stated that 25 communities are participating in the festival and displaying their cultures and traditions.
The festival includes eight pavilions that attract all age groups in addition to the areas featuring global village, world cuisine, folklore and carnival and daily dialogue sessions offered by King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue (KACND), as well as theater activities and daily drawings.
Al-Shammari said that the festival included a variety of daily activities taking place at Azmeel Heritage Village, Knowledge Villages and the Names of Allah Exhibition.
The festival holds competitions for all ages, including the most beautiful selfie, snapshot and time-lapse, besides a drawing competition.
The festival is open daily in two shifts — from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on other days.
The organizing committee has allocated an account (@SocialRCJubail) on all social networks so that the public can learn about the festival.
